Bajrang Dal’s Telangana convener Shivaramulu has issued a warning to organisers of Devi Navratri dandiya events, alleging that the participation of Muslims leads to ‘love jihad.’

He claimed the festival should remain exclusive to Hindus.

"Hindus do not go to mosques and churches during their festivals. Why should they be allowed to enter ours? This is a Hindu-only festival. But they are entering these festivities wrongfully, and subjecting our girls to love jihad,” he said.

Shivaramulu threatened action against organisers if non-Hindus were allowed to participate. “If we see any non-Hindu participant, the Bajrang Dal workers will teach them a lesson,” he warned, dismissing possible police intervention.

He alleged that such participation was part of a larger issue. “We will teach them a lesson,” he said in reference to minority communities.

‘Love jihad’ is a conspiracy theory that claims Muslim men deliberately form relationships with non-Muslim women to marry and convert them to Islam under an alleged “Islamisation project.”
