text_fieldsNoida: Mumbai police arrested a 20-year-old man for issuing death threats to actor Salman Khan and Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of the slain Maharashtra politician Baba Siddique.
Zeeshan Siddiqui’s father and NCP (Ajit Pawar) leader, Baba Siddique, was shot dead on October 12.
Police said that Siddique's public relations office in Bandra East received the call on Friday evening with the person on the call threatening to kill ‘Zeeshan Siddiqui and actor Salman Khan and demanded money’.
However, police reportedly said that the man identified as Mohammed Tayyab made the call for fun.
Mohammed Tayyab was arrested in Noida and arrangement are made for his transit remand to Mumbai.
Zeeshan Siddiqui's office quickly responded to the call by registering a complaint and the police filed an FIR, before identifying Mohammed Tayyab.
In a similar incident earlier, Mumbai police arrested 24-year-old Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a vegetable seller earlier, after traffic police's WhatsApp helpline received a threat message.
In April, suspected members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang fired at actor Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra.
Following this incident, the actor's security has been beefed up.
Maharashtra politician Baba Siddique was shot dead near his son Zeeshan's office in Mumbai earlier this month.
The threat to Zeeshan came weeks after his father's murder.
