Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday carried out raids at eight locations across Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam districts of Kashmir in connection with a “white-collar” terror module linked to the car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, officials said. The explosion had left 15 people dead and several others injured.

Searches were conducted at the residence of Moulvi Irfan Ahmad Wagay in Shopian, who investigators say played a key role in radicalising and recruiting members of the module busted early last month. He was arrested by police in October, and the NIA took him into custody last month after assuming charge of the probe into the blast.

Raids were also carried out in Koil, Chandgam, Malangpora and Samboora areas of Pulwama district at premises believed to be associated with individuals linked to the Delhi car blast case. In addition, the agency searched the home of Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather, who was arrested from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh in the first week of November.

Further details of the searches and any possible seizures or additional arrests were not immediately available.
