Bhopal: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has seized under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act a poultry farm owned by Imran Khan, one of the members of a group called ‘Sufa,’ which the agency alleged is operating, drawing inspiration from ISIS, in Julwaniya village of Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh.

The agency claimed that explosives and components used in the assembly of Improvised Explosive Devices were seized from the farm during their investigation. The NIA further claimed that the group ‘Sufa’ had been using the farm for radicalization, recruitment, and bomb-making training purposes.

The NIA had earlier filed a charge sheet on September 22, 2022, against Imran Khan and 10 others involved in the conspiracy. Last year in April, the NIA had registered a case against the "Sufa" group, stating that their activities were deeply inspired by ISIS and driven by a jihadi ideology.

The members of the group were actively involved in motivating and recruiting local youth to carry out acts of terror.

Over the past months, the agency has been conducting investigations into more than two dozen cases related to such groups, with the aim of dismantling their networks and ensuring national security.
