Bollywood actress Neena Gupta recently shared a video in which she was seen talking to Kanwaljit Singh about her journey from the 90s TV show Saans to the 2019 film Sardar Ka Grandson.

As is customary in Bollywood, Neena Gupta and Kanwaljit Singh played romantic interests in Saans. The duo had become iconic for their performance in Saans in which Neena played a woman who finds out about her husband's infidelity. The subtle and nuanced work in the mature romantic drama was critically acclaimed. But in 2019, Gupta played Singh's mother.

In the recent video, the actors were seen engaged in banter about their work.

The 62-year-old actress is seen asking 'how do you feel after working with me again? Earlier, you played the role of my son'. The 70-year-old Singh replies 'but I have played your husband too'. Gupta reminds him with a smile that it was a long time ago. She adds "you are old now. How do you feel playing my friend now?" Singh replies that it feels good.

Neena Gupta tweeted the video and captioned it 'phir tera zamana yaad aaya'. She had talked about playing Singh's mother in Sardar Ka Grandson and said "see, that's the fun of acting; someone who was your lover is now your son. It's fun".

The actress has become an icon in Hindi cinema after she resurrected her career in 2018. She played a middle-aged pregnant woman in the comedy-drama Badhaai Ho. Since then, Gupta has been choosing refreshing characters.

Her presence on social media has also been a point of discussion as she does not shrink into the stereotypes. She landed the role in the career-defining film after sharing an Instagram post about looking for meaningful work as a senior actress.
