New Delhi: Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov on Monday and discussed a range of issues relating to the India-Russia strategic partnership, PTI reported.

On Monday, Doval and Manturov, who is on a two-day visit to India, discussed a range of bilateral issues to implement the India-Russia strategic partnership.

Also, Russia's minister for trade and industry, Manturov, is in India primarily to attend an inter-governmental meeting on trade, culture and science and technology.

Earlier in the day, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Manturov, the co-chairs of the intergovernmental Russia-India Commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, met a group of business representatives from both countries.

On Tuesday, a plenary meeting of the intergovernmental commission (IGC) will be held, and after that, the co-chairs will sign the final protocol of the 24th IGC meeting.

New Delhi and Moscow plan to discuss the "widest range" of issues of bilateral trade and economic and humanitarian cooperation.

It is in the backdrop of renewed intensity in India-Russia trade ties, Manturov visits Delhi. Also, India has increased its procurement of discounted crude oil from Russia.

So far, India has not condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and it continues to maintain that the war should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.
