Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have converted Bihar into Taliban, Bihar Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav said on Saturday, while elections in the state are around. Tesjashwi called the NDA government in the state ‘helpless’ in the face of the rising wave of violence, India Today reported.

The leader had cited several crimes that had happened in the state to back his allegation.

He wrote on X, "BJP has turned Bihar into Taliban! Doctor shot in Gaya. Open firing between two groups in Patna. Woman shot in Patna. Businessman murdered in Rohtas."

The state has been witnessing an uptick in gang-related violence, and Tejashwi slammed both Nitish Kumar and PM Modi for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

"The Modi-Nitish BJP government is helpless. DK tax-protected goons and criminals are fearless!" he wrote.

Recently, five unidentified people stormed into a private hospital in the state capital and shot dead a prisoner out on parole in broad daylight. A man named Vikram Jha was shot dead in Patna’s Ramakrishna Nagar area, Times of India reported.

It was only a fortnight ago that prominent businessman Gopal Khemka was shot dead by a gunman, who was later killed in a police encounter. The incident happened in Patna too. The assailant opened fire at Khemka as he stepped out of his car near an apartment near his residence, Panache Hotel in the Gandhi Maidan area. Khemka is the owner of Magadh Hospital, which is one of the oldest private hospitals in the state.
