‘Muslims use condoms most’: Asaduddin Owaisi flays Modi’s remarks

New Delhi: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday countered PM Modi’s "those who have the most children" remark that he made in the contest of Congress’ wealth redistribution claims.

Asaduddin Owaisi asked the Prime Minister ‘Why are you creating fear that Muslims produce more children? According to data from the Modi government, the population growth and fertility among Muslims has decreased’, adding that ‘Muslims use condoms most, and I have no shame in saying this.’

AIMIM leader was addressing a rally in Hyderabad when he responded to PM Modi’s speech last week in Rajasthan where he said "Congress says they will calculate gold with mothers and sisters... and distribute that property’.

Further expanding on it, he linked the Congress’ wealth re-distribution plan to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s speech that ‘Muslims have first right on all resources."

Taking on PM Modi’s remarks, Owais reportedly said: "Narendra Modi is instilling fear among Hindus that Muslims will become majority community. How long will you create fear about the Muslims? Our religion is different but we belong to this country."

PM Modi was addressing a rally in Rajasthan's Banswara when he unleashed an attack on the Congress manifesto pinning down on the grand old party’s plans for re-distribution of wealth.

Responding to his remarks, the Congress hit back accusing the prime minister of diverting the voters’ attention from genuine issues.

The AIMIM chief is contesting the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat where in 2019 he secured over 60 per cent of the votes.
