Muslims must accept truth about all disputed mosques: RSS magazine

New Delhi: In stark contrast to Rashtriya Svayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat's recent call to stop making raking issues placing claims of being temples on various mosques across the country, the RSS-affiliated magazine Organiser has a different take on such claims.

The Indian Express reported that a cover story and an accompanying editorial run by the Organiser in its latest issue completely steered off Bhagwat's cautionary statement on the rising number of similar disputes across the country. The editorial argues that it is necessary to find the truth behind disputed religious spaces that were historically invaded or demolished.

The editorial brings up Dr BR Ambedkar and said that Babasaheb went to the root cause of caste-based discrimination and provided constitutional remedies to end it and claimed that a similar approach is needed to end "religious acrimony and disharmony".

The editorial further claimed that the time has ripened to address the quest for "civilisational justice", and it could be achieved only with Muslims accepting the "truth".

The "Bharatiya Muslims" must be dissociated from perpetrators of iconoclasm and religious supremacy, while the quest for civilisational justice offers "hope for peace and harmony".

The editorial warned that denying access to this civilisational justice and "right to know the truth" because some colonised elites and pseudo-intellectuals want to continue with the application of "shoddy Secularism" would encourage radicalism, separatism and hostility.

The Organiser editorial wanted the Muslim community to acknowledge the "historical injustices" done to Hindus. Knowing the "truth" of disputed "from Somanath to Sambhal and beyond" is not about religious supremacy but about reaffirming "our national identity" and seeking civilisational justice.
