Muslim youth allegedly beaten up for wearing skull cap in Karnataka
text_fieldsTwo Muslim boys were allegedly assaulted by around 15 assailants in a tution class for wearing their traditional Islamic skull caps. The incident took place in Ikkal town of Karnataka's Bagalkote district. A video that has come out after the incident shows a man, only identified as Tangadagi Manju, threatening the boys in hospital. In the video, Manju can be seen asking them to keep his name out of the FIR.
Two FIR's have been registered in the case with one from the boys themselves and the others by the attackers who were also allegedly injured in the altercation said Lokesh Bharamappa Jagalasar IPS, Superintendent of Police. He said that the matter would be investigated fairly and impartially to ensure that justice was delivered.
In September, a Muslim man was murdered in the Belagavi district of Karnataka by members of the Sri Ram Sena Hindustan, as he had an affair with a Hindu woman. The 'contract killing' was done at the behest of the woman's family.
