New Delhi: Delhi Police Special Cell arrested a murder convict on parole for committing another murder while he was on parole. Anchal Mishra, 24, was serving a life sentence for committing a murder in 2017, and was later out on parole.

Mishra's brother was killed in 2017, said Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Cell, Pramod Singh Kushwah.

Mishra, along with his associates, avenged his brother by murdering Narender, battering his head with bricks.

Narender was killed on his suspected involvement in the murder of Mishra's brother.

"For this, Mishra was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment," the DCP said.

In August, 2021, Mishra was granted parole for his marriage.

Out on parole, Mishra along with his associates including Ajay, Chandan,Vijay, Mustakeem shot at Yogesh aka Yashpal near the service station of Akash.

"Yogesh suffered gun injury and succumbed to injuries while Akash luckily escaped unhurt," the official said.

Another case under Sections 302 (PunishmentAfor murder), 307 (Attempt to murderA) and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code was registered against him at the Shalimar Bagh police station in Delhi, IANS reports.

Mishra was nabbed by a team of the Special Cell from Gopalpur village in Bihar's Begusarai.

"The accused was frequently changing his hideouts in Bihar to hoodwink the security agencies," Kushwah said.

Obviously, a known depredator, Mishra, according to DCP, was first arrested at age 20. He has remained in jail since.

Jumping parole, he was toying with the idea of forming his own gang with those he had made friends in the jail.
