Madhya Pradesh government said it will write to the centre to send out a lookout notice against filmmaker Leena Manimekalai. The Shivraj Singh Chouhan government wants to detain her if she tries to enter or leave the country.

The CM said his government will not tolerate disrespect to any Hindu Gods or Goddesses at any cost. MP Police has sent a legal notice to Twitter asking to remove access to the "objectionable" content posted by Leena Manimekalai within 36 hours.

Several cases were filed against Manimekalai after the poster of her documentary film 'Kaali' showed the Goddess smoking and holding an LGBTQ flag.

The Madurai-born Toronto-based filmmaker tweeted the poster herself which led to outrage in several states in India. Many filed FIRs in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh as well, reported NDTV.

She is being accused of "promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion", "deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings" and "intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace".

Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra is also facing FIRs in Madhya Pradesh for saying every individual has the right to worship God in their own way. She also said she imagines Kali to be a "meat-eating and alcohol-accepting goddess".
