Mother, lesbian partner arrested in Tamil Nadu for killing baby

Chennai: A woman and her lesbian partner have been arrested in Tamil Nadu after the former’s husband accused them of murdering the couple’s six-month-old baby, NDTV reported.
The child was believed to have died while being breastfed earlier this month in Krishnagiri district.
Back then, police registered a case of unnatural death but did not conduct a post-mortem and the body was buried on the family’s farm land.
Days later, the man approached police with messages, photos and videos shared between the woman and her lesbian partner, claiming that the baby may have been harmed from the pressure linked to the relationship.
Afterwards, officials exhumed the body earlier this week for a post-mortem, which revealed that the child was smothered and strangled.
The woman reportedly told the police that she did not want her husband's child, adding that her husband did not take care of her.
