Hapur: A pregnant woman was critically injured after her mother and brother set her on fire in a forest in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur.
The woman's family was furious when the unmarried refused to divulge the father of the child, NDTV reported.
They tried to elicit details about the man but failed when they decided go to the extreme, according to reports citing police.
Afterwards, the mother and brother took her to a forest and set her on fire.
The famers at work in the forest happened on the woman and immediately rushed her to a hospital, police said.
She was then rushed to state-run hospital in Meerut where she is in critical care.
Police reportedly said they are questioning the mother and brother in custody.
