Hyderabad: The suspected Monkeypox patient from Telangana's test results came negative, a senior doctor at a government-run hospital in Hyderabad said on Tuesday. The 35-year-old man who returned from abroad recently had shown symptoms of illness, PTI reported.

Superintendent of Government Fever Hospital, Dr K Shankar, informed PTI that the samples sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune have come out negative.

"There is nothing to panic about. The samples turned out to be negative for monkeypox," Dr Shankar said.

The Fever Hospital is the nodal hospital to treat patients with the emerging virus in the state.

The man returned from Kuwait on July 6 to Kamareddy district in Telangana. He developed monkeypox symptoms and fever on July 20.
