Modi's silence on the Adani issue will harm him: Satya Pal Malik
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik again stunned political circles projecting Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as a ‘serious candidate’ for prime minister.
His latest bombshell comes days after revealing that Pulwama terrorist attack that killed CRPF personnel occurred due to security lapses, which triggered a controversy.
Only days before, Malik doubted Rajnath Singh’s abilities against the backdrop of the alleged security lapses behind the Pulwama attack. The Union home ministry was then headed by Rajnath Singh.
Now, quite intriguingly Malik stresses on Rajnath Singh’s prospects, saying ‘if it is his destiny, he will become one’, India Today reported.
Meanwhile, Malik said BJP’s prospects in the 2014 polls are not very bright.
"I wish them well, but in politics and elections, no one knows what will happen. The current situation is difficult for them, they will have to do some things,” he was quoted as saying.
Malik is at loggerheads with the BJP on various issues most importantly his criticism of the alleged security lapses in Pulwama attack.
Calling for reaction on Pulwama issue, Malik said that the prime minister’s silence on the Adani issue also will harm him.
Terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed had claimed responsibility for the deadly attack that killed forty CRPF personnel.
Malik earlier this month told an online news portal in an interview that PM Modi asked him to keep silent when he was informed of the security lapses.
