On Sunday, Shashi Tharoor took to Twitter and shared a thread expressing his disbelief over Barack Obama not mentioning prime minister Narendra Modi in his forthcoming memoir named "A Promised Land" However, this didn't go well with the Twitter users. Several netizens trolled Tharoor for his statement.

One user tweeted, "That's because it's part 1 of his journey till 2012. Part of life after 2012 will come later. He met Modi after 2014. All that flamboyant English and still no common sense tsk tsk."

Shashi Tharoor's tweet about Modi comes a day after Obama's remark about Rahul Gandhi stirred quite a row in India. Several Congress members had come forward to defend their leader. Anyway, this has triggered the netizens into trolling him for the ex-US president choosing to write critically about his leader and hailed the PM in their tweets as the historic leader who needs no mention.

" Mr Tharoor, your rejoicing of the fact that NaMo has not been mentioned about even once in more than 900 pages shows ur and ur party's fascination with the audacious PM in NaMo. Why, after all, shall Obama be the reference point for our PM who is one of the most loved leaders," another user wrote.

A 767-page memoir, Obama's "A Promised Land" includes his impressions of several American and world leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden.

On Rahul Gandhi, Obama remarked he has "a nervous, unformed quality about him, as if he were a student who'd done the coursework and was eager to impress the teacher but deep down lacked either the aptitude or the passion to master the subject."

Meanwhile in his tweet, Shashi Tharoor praised the ex-prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh for being warmly described as "wise, thoughtful, scrupulously honest", "a man of uncommon wisdom & decency" with whom Barack Obama enjoyed "a warm & productive relationship" though MMS was "cautious in foreign policy".
