Mumbai (Maharashtra): A 21-year-old Thai national has been detained at the Mumbai Airport on charges of trafficking cocaine.
The Directorate of Revenue ( DRI) officials, acting on a tip off, arrested the woman upon arrival from Addis Ababa on Friday, news agency ANI reported.
The sleuths couldn’t find anything suspicious initially, before a closer inspection of her trolley bag revealed multiple packets containing white powder-like substance.
Afterwards, testing confirmed it to be cocaine worth 40 crore in international market.
The woman has been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
