Man who fired at Delhi car showroom killed in encounter: police
text_fieldsNew Delhi: The man who fired several rounds of bullets at a car showroom in Delhi's Tilak Nagar was killed in an encounter with the police on Thursday night, NDTV reported.
Ajay alias Goli, resident of Sonipat, had links to gangster Himanshu Bhau who fled to Portugal after being on the run, police said.
On May 6, Ajay accompanied by another shooter, Abhishek alias Churan, had fired at the car showroom to threaten the owner.
Abhishek was arrested during a raid near North Delhi's Model Town on May 10 and recovered from him a pistol and six cartridges.
Abhishek is charged with four cases under Arms Act as well as murder and attempt to murder.
It is reported he had helped gangster Himanshu hide, before he fled India.
The gangster used to issue threats to car dealers in Delhi to extort crores of rupees.
According to the police, he demanded ₹ 5 crore while being on the run.
