Man sentenced to life imprisonment for killing wife in Jharkhand

Chaibasa/ Jharkhand: A Jharkand court sentenced a man to life imprisonment for killing his wife. On Tuesday, the court of principal district and sessions judge in Chaibasa, West Singhbhum district, sentenced Shukhlal Pingua under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 201 (disappearance of evidence), PTI reported.
The court further imposed Rs 10,000 fine on the convicted also, police informed.
Police described that Pingua, a native of Ruiya village in the Hatgamariah police station area, and wife Padmawati Mahato were classmates and became lovers. The relationship improved, they reached their marriage, and both lived together in the Gua police station area.
Used, Pingua used to assault Padmavati physically, and she died of such an assault in 2019. She had succumbed to her injuries, police informed.
