Mahua Moitra hits back at Modi's invoking of Kaali

New Delhi: Trinamool Congress leadership in West Bengal is not pleased with PM Modi's invoking of Goddess Kaali during his virtual speech at an event organised by the Ramakrishna Mission on Sunday.

Addressing the centenary celebrations of, Swami Atmasthananda, Modi said the blessings of Maa Kaali are always with India as it is moving ahead with a spiritual energy for the welfare of the world.

PM Modi's invoking of Kaali came in the wake of Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra's controversial remarks on Kaali, calling the Goddess a meat-eating, alcohol-receiving deity.

The BJP leadership cashing in on Modi's praise for Goddess Kaali hit out at the Trinamool Congress and its MP Mahual Moitra, according to the Indian Express.

BJP's IT cell chief Amit Malviya tweeted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks reverentially about placing Kali the centre of devotion, not just for Bengal but the whole of India.

Amit Malviya took a dig at Moitra saying that the TMC MP insulted Kaali while Mamata Banerjee defended her obnoxious portrayal of Kaali.

Moitra would not wait to respond to Malviya' s comments asking him to tell his masters to stop commenting on things they had no clue about.

Senior TMC leader and MP Sougata Roy also added that the Prime Minister did not know about Kaali puja. He might have come one or two times to Belur Math or Dakshineswar. He also said that Mamata Banerjee does Kaali puja and she has 'Kaali Thakur' in her residence.

CPIM MP Bikash Bhattacharya asked PM Modi to talk about the Constitution rather than invoking religion. He called out Modi for speaking on a particular religion invoking God.
