Mahua Moitra alleges harassment on IndiGo flight, says men shouted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘TMC chor’ slogans

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra on Thursday alleged that she was harassed by a group of male passengers aboard an IndiGo flight to Delhi, claiming they shouted political slogans and filmed her after landing.
In a post on X, Moitra said she was travelling on official work to attend a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence when the incident occurred. She said she was seated in 1F on flight 6E 719 and alleged that four to six men boarded together, stared at her, and moved to the rear of the aircraft.
According to Moitra, the group began shouting slogans and recording videos inside the plane after it landed but before the doors opened. In the video she shared, the men can be heard raising slogans including “Jai Shri Ram” and “chor chor TMC chor”, along with other remarks directed at the Trinamool Congress leadership.
Moitra tagged IndiGo, Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu and others, urging the airline to identify the passengers and place them on a no-fly list. She later said she had filed a formal complaint.
Sources told The Indian Express that cabin crew initially asked the passengers to stop chanting, after which they complied, and no further escalation took place. IndiGo had not issued a response yet.
The incident comes amid heightened political tensions in West Bengal following the recent Assembly election, in which the BJP defeated the Trinamool Congress.
