Maharashtra BJP Chief slams Nawab Malik for "giving threats"

Palghar: Maharashtra BJP president Chandrakant Patil on Sunday slammed NCP leader and minister Nawab Malik and asked him to stop issuing threats about an "expose" during the upcoming winter session of the state legislature.

"Malik can say whatever he wants to. Who has stopped you? He should stop giving threats," Mr Patil told reporters.

Mr Malik has raised a slew of allegations against Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede and had accused him of playing into the hands of the BJP.

Continuing his tirade against Wankhede, Malik on Friday had said he would expose some BJP leaders and their alleged connection with the officer in the winter session of the state Legislature to be held in December.

Referring to his own - "Picture is not over yet" - tweet that he had posted on Thursday after Aryan Khan, son of actor Shah Rukh Khan, was granted bail by the Bombay High Court in the drugs-on-cruise case, Malik said the picture will end with Wankhede losing his job and facing legal action for forging documents and securing a job that was meant for an SC candidate.

"It will be a stormy session and once those names are out, the BJP leaders will not be able to show their face in public," Malik said.

He had also called the raid conducted by the NCB earlier this month as fake.

Meanwhile, former general secretary of BJP Mumbai Mohit Bharatiya (Kamboj) on Sunday filed a Rs 100 crore defamation suit against NCP minister Nawab Malik for dragging him and his family members in the Mumbai cruise drug case.

Kamboj said: "Today, I have filled the damages suit against Nawab Malik for Rs 100 crore in High Court in Mumbai for making baseless allegations against me and my family."

Earlier in a press conference, Malik had claimed that Rishab Sachdev, brother-in-law of Kamboj, along with two others were also present in the Mumbai cruise rave party and were let off by the NCB.

Khan, Merchant and Dhamecha were arrested by the NCB on October 3 and booked under relevant sections of the NDPS Act for alleged possession, consumption, sale/purchase of banned drugs and conspiracy and abetment.

Their arrest came a day after the NCB allegedly raided the cruise ship and claimed to have seized banned drugs.
