License of UP hospital suspended after 3-year-old boy circumcised
text_fieldsBareilly: On the orders of the deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak, the licence of M Khan Hospital was revoked when it was discovered that a 3-year-old child had been circumcised in a hospital in Bareilly.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, who also oversees health policy, stated in a tweet sent out on Saturday that he had sent a team from the health department to the hospital to look into the situation, ANI reported.
"If the complaint is found correct, orders have been given to the CMO, Bareilly, to register an FIR against the guilty doctor and hospital management, to cancel the registration of the said hospital with immediate effect, and to make the complete report of the proceedings available within 24 hours," Mr Pathak had said.
Instead of having his tongue operated on June 23, a two-and-a-half-year-old kid underwent circumcision at M Khan Hospital, Stadium Road. Following the occurrence, the relatives reported the incident to the police.
Several Hindu organisations arrived at the scene and protested against circumcision as soon as the incident became public.
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak took notice of the occurrence and gave Dr Balbir Singh, the chief medical officer in Bareilly, the order to look into it and take appropriate action.
According to Chief Medical Officer Dr Balbir Singh, a team of doctors visited the hospital to investigate the situation and took the doctor's and the staff's statements as well.
Additionally, statements made by the child's family members were also recorded. The hospital's licence has been suspended, according to Dr Balbir Singh, and all essential paperwork has been taken into custody.
The matter is being looked into more thoroughly.
