K'tka BJP youth leader hacked to death, deceased was accused of killing of Muslim youth

Mangalore: The BJP activist, Praveen Nettaru, who was accused of murdering a Muslim youth in Dakshina Kannada, has succumbed to the injuries inflicted on him with a long knife by two men.
Praveen was the district secretary of the BJP Yuva Morcha who ran a poultry shop. The incident happened at around 9.30 pm yesterday when Praveen was returning home after closing his shop. He had run for his life when the men on a Kerala registration bike approached him.
Soon after the incident, all the shops in the area were shut down following the tension that prevailed there. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai condemned the killing of Praveen and said that the accused would be arrested soon.
The 19-year-old, Masud, a painter, was murdered recently over an issue. The police suspected Praveen's involvement in the murder. The police have arrested 8 people, who are reportedly associated with right-wing groups, in connection with Masud's death.
