Kochi airport announces winter schedule: Air India Express tops international departures

Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) will facilitate 1202 weekly air traffic movements against 1160 in the current summer schedule, says CIAL's winter schedule.
CIAL announced on Friday new schedule for winter in both the international and domestic sectors, which will remain in effect from October 30 to March 25, 2023.
The winter schedule suggests a strong back for operations after the dull period stemming from pandemic, according to the News Minute
As per the new schedule, 26 airlines will be operating to overseas destinations and of them, 22 international carriers will have 271 weekly departures, the report said.
Air India Express will pull off 44 weekly departures to international destinations, topping the list while Indigo offering 42 domestic departures weekly.
Those heading to Gulf can find 44 weekly departures to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and with Muscat getting 30 operations from Kochi.
The operator has increased weekly flights to Kuala Lumpur to 25.
The 327 domestic operations for winter will connect to 13 cities with 104 weekly flights to Bengaluru, 56 to New Delhi, 42 to Mumbai, 24 to Hyderabad, 52 to Chennai, and 10 to Pune, as per the report.
Alongside, there will be daily flights to Agathi, Ahmedabad, Goa, Kannur, Kolkata, and Thiruvananthapuram.
CIAL is the third busiest airport in the country in terms of international traffic.
