K'kta doc rape & murder: CPIM-BJP nexus sponsored vandalism, claims Mamata
text_fieldsKolkata: In the gruesome rape and murder of a doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, run by the state government and ensued violence and vandalism happened there, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reiterated her claim that it was the nexus of CPIM and BJP orchestrated the violence and vandalism, NDTV reported.
Mamata, who also manages the portfolios of Home and Health, accused the rival parties of attempting to obscure the truth behind the rape and murder.
In a rally in Kolkata, Mamata said that what was needed was the truth to come out, but some were spreading lies to mislead people. She claimed that attempts are being made to hide the truth by circulating fake news on social media, and the government condemns such activities. The government also wanted the culprits to be punished, the Trinamool Congress supremo said.
She said that the nexus between the Left and BJP should be exposed. Mamata said they were behind the vandalism of the RG Kar Hospital, and they intended to destroy the evidence.
She continued allegations, saying that the Left and BJP wanted to create unrest in Bengal. Those who vandalized the hospital are outsiders, which is evident from the videos that surfaced. She claimed that in those videos, there were people who were holding CPIM or BJP flags.
Meanwhile, the BJP alleged that Mamata's party, TMC, sponsored the vandalism in question. BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, who was once a close aide of Mamata, claimed that the CM sent goons to the apolitical rally near RG Kar Hospital. The government gave the vandals safe passage using police.
