Karnataka: Muslim youth gets thrashed for being with Hindu girl

Dakshina Kannada: A group of people thrashed a Muslim youth allegedly for wandering around with a minor Hindu girl. The miscreants handed the boy over to police, too, after attacking him near a pilgrimage centre in the Dakshina Kannada district on Friday, IANS reported.

Police said that the incident happened at the pilgrimage centre Kukke Subramanya in Kadaba taluk of the district. The youth, identified as Afeed from Kallugundi, has been admitted to a hospital.

Police said that the said group of miscreant people saw the youth with the girl at a bus stop at Kukke Subramanya. They followed them till Kumaradhara and then attacked him.

Based on a complaint by the boy, Subramanya Police have registered a case. Meanwhile, the girl’s father also registered a complaint against the boy, and police charged a POCSO case against him.
