Bengaluru: Farmers across Karnataka are geared up to join the 'Bharath Bandh' being held on December 8th protest demanding to repeal the three new Farm Acts introduced by the government.

The intention is to peacefully protest the three Farm Acts that got presidential assent on September 27, 2020. The shutdown will be held all over Karnataka on Tuesday, December 8 and in Bangalore on Wednesday, December 9.

The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) has stated that they support the Bandh.

According to KRRS president, K Chandreshekar, about 300 farmer organizations will be participating in a day long Bandh all over Karnataka. He stated that the farmers were in distress due to the new laws and have been protesting to no avail.

Chandrashekhar, along with a dozen members of the KRRS joined the protest in Delhi last week.

Along with the farmer organisations, several organisations that sympathize with the cause have made the decision to join. Congress and JD(S) in Karnataka are also extending their support to the cause.
