Bengaluru: According to official sources, the Karnataka Cabinet has approved amendments to the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement (KTPP) Act, providing a 4% reservation in tenders for Muslim contractors.

The Karnataka Cabinet has also approved the Karnataka Gram Swaraj and Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill, aiming to provide 'B' khatas to all unauthorised rural properties. This move is similar to the ongoing process in urban areas.

The bill is expected to cover some 90 lakh rural properties that do not have khatas.

The Karnataka Cabinet discussed a proposal to allocate 4.24 acres of land belonging to the Agriculture Department in Hebbal for the International Flower Auction Bangalore (IFAB). As per the proposal, the land would be provided on a rent-free basis for two years, according to sources.

Discussions were also held on approving financial assistance of Rs 96.77 crore for reconstruction and replacement of equipment at Bangalore Bioinnovation Centre after the January fire incident.

The Karnataka Cabinet has also initiated measures to reform the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) by establishing an expert committee to propose reforms and a search committee to appoint new KPSC members.
