Bengaluru: BJP is likely to win both Sira and Rajarajeshwari Nagar seats in the Karnataka assembly by-election,according to the exit polls conducted by various channels. However, not all agree with the exit polls. Congress in particular has expressed skepticism regarding the same.

Although the numbers differ from channel to channel, they seem to agree that BJP is likely to win both seats. In RR Nagar, the numbers were fairly similar.BJP was confident about winning in Rajarajeshwari Nagar from the beginning of the campaign with veteran candidate Muniratna.

According to the exit polls, BJP will take the lead in RR Nagar, followed by Congress' Kusuma. V Krishnamurthy from JDS would apparently run third.

Sira is an area that BJP never had a stronghold over, but it seemed to have shifted the narrative in its favor.

CM Yediyurappa has conveyed confidence in taking the lead in both places. "In Sira, though initially we had a 50/50 chance, it became clearer later. One week away from polling, it was clear that the BJP would win in Sira," he said.

In Sira, too, the exit polls predict BJP to lead, followed by Congress and JDS respectively. The margins predicted for Sira varied more than that of RR Nagar, prediction for JDS going as low as 11%.
