Indian Union Muslim League opens headquarters in Delhi
text_fieldsNew Delhi: The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has opened its headquarters in Delhi. This marked the moment of gratification and energy for the future, said IUML Public Affairs Committee chairman Sadik Ali Shihab Thangal.
Sadik Ali emphasised the role of IUML workers and sympathisers in realising this dream through financial and emotional support.
“The national office is not just a political office at the capital, but it represents empowerment of communities, nurturing of harmony and a hub of active secular engagements”, he told the gathering.
He recounted the vibrant role of IUML in national politics, ensuring the preservation of constitutional principles, the advancement of justice, and the empowerment of all. The party born after independence led the community to the heights of development, he stated.
He remembered the moment of fulfilment with satisfaction, not without a feeling of guilt for the delay. He emphasised the varied roles the Centre will undertake to ensure its maximum utilisation.
He urged the audience to preserve the beauty of India. The opposition to the UCC is because it damages India's inclusive concept.
Later, Sadik Ali remembered the contributions of Quaide Millath Ismael Sahib for the constitution-making and independent politics of the country.
The conference saw solidarity with the beleaguered Palestinian people. Thangal drew attention to the plight of the Palestinian people under the torrent of attacks by Israel. He highlighted the importance of immediate international intervention in alleviating the crisis.
“We stand with all people in the country, ranging from Adivasis, Dalits, oppressed classes and minority communities in their problems”, he stated.
Quaid-e-Millath was the guardian of the community, IUML president Kader Mohideen said. His contribution was not limited to the Muslim community but extended to the people of India as a whole, he added.
India, he said, is a spiritual guru to the entire world and a leading light in guiding humanity.
Commenting on the debate around Hindutva, he said Muslims had already named the nation Hindustan, a name that itself signifies peace.
He stressed that the IUML stands for unity and harmony in national life.
