New Delhi: India reported 3.26laksh fresh Covid cases with 3,980 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 2.43 crore, said health ministry update.

Bringing some relief, the country's cumulative COVID-19 recoveries have surpassed the two crore mark with 3,44,776 patients recovering in a day. This is the fourth time in the last five days that recoveries have outnumbered daily cases.

Meanwhile, as per the health ministry update, more than 18 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country till Friday.

In a grim warning issued by the World health experts on Friday, it is said that the second year of Covid-19 was set to be "far more deadly".

"We're on track for the second year of this pandemic to be far more deadly than the first," said the World Health Organization's director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
