India has launched a relief operation, named 'Operation Sadbhav,' to support Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam in the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi, Asia's most powerful storm this year.

The typhoon triggered severe flooding across the three countries, prompting India to send emergency supplies to assist in recovery efforts.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar announced on social media that India had dispatched 10 tonnes of aid, including dry rations, clothing, and medicines, to Myanmar aboard the Indian naval ship INS Satpura. In addition, the Indian Air Force deployed military transport aircraft carrying 35 tonnes of aid to Vietnam and 10 tonnes to Laos.

The aid packages for Vietnam include essential supplies like water purification items, containers, blankets, kitchen utensils, and solar lanterns, while relief for Laos consists of generators, hygiene supplies, mosquito nets, sleeping bags, and more.

Jaishankar emphasized India's solidarity with the affected nations, stating that the relief effort reflects India's commitment to providing assistance in times of crisis.
