India contributes substantially to International security: Putin

New Delhi: Greeting India on its 74th Repiblic day, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that India made a substantial contribution to ensuring international stability and security, and he praised the country for the same, Asian News International reported.

Putin added that India's achievements in the spheres of economic, social, and scientific, among others, are widely known. India makes a contribution to addressing vital issues on the regional and global agenda, he said.

According to him, Russia keeps a high value on the strategic ties between the two powers. He expressed hope that India and Russia continue working together to ensure the growth of "mutually benefitting bilateral cooperation". The same is among the fundamental interests of the people of both the powers, he said,

"We set a high value on the relations of privileged strategic partnership between our states. I am confident that by working together, we can ensure the continued growth of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in all areas. This undoubtedly meets the fundamental interests of the friendly peoples of Russia and India," Putin's statement on the Kremlin website was quoted by ANI.

Further, the Russian Embassy in India extended its greetings on Republic Day. "Wishing a very happy #RepublicDay to all our Indian friends!" the embassy wrote on its Twitter handle.

Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal also paid his wishes to Narendra Modi and whole Indians on occasion.

Dahal tweeted, "On the occasion of the 74th Republic Day of India, I extend warm felicitations and best wishes to Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, the government and the friendly people of India."
