New Delhi: Opposition INDIA bloc may well bring a motion to remove Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, NDTV reported citing sources.

The Opposition’s decision to remove the poll body chief comes days after Rahul Gandhi came out with what he claimed bombshell revelations of ‘vote theft’ allegations.

At a meeting of their leaders at Parliament this morning, the Opposition camp reportedly has discussed the decision of removing the Chief Election Commissioner.

In order to remove Chief Election Commissioner, the motion requires the support of a two-thirds majority in both Houses of Parliament on the grounds of ‘proved misbehaviour or incapacity’.

Following Rahul Gandhi’s fierce criticism of the poll body, the Election Commission of India on Sunday rejected allegations of vote theft calling them ‘misleading’.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar told a press conference that ‘Using words like vote chori to mislead people is a disrespect to the Constitution’.
