New Delhi: Indian and Chinese troops were injured after they physically clashed along the border in Arunachal Pradesh on December 9.

Around 200 Chinese soldiers, carrying spiked clubs and sticks, involved in the attack, according to India Today.

The fight broke out at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang Sector in a repeat of another fight months ago.

Sources reveal that both sides suffered injuries but the Chinese side was left with more casualties, according to PTI.

Indian Army Jawans stopped an attempt of more than 300 Chinese soldiers to reach the top of 17,000-ft peak, sources said.

The Indian side reportedly averted the Chinese's attempt to 'uproot' an Indian post in the area, which is now, under snow. Both sides immediately disengaged from the area.

At least Indian six soldiers got injured in the clash and they were receiving care in Guwahati, according to PTI

The number of those injured on Chinese side is not known yet.

Reports suggest that soldiers from both sides suffered only minor injuries after they clashed.

The Congress party called out the BJP administration while demanding to "explain' to Beijing in a 'stern tone'.

"There is news of a clash between the soldiers of India and China in Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh. The time has come for the government to leave its wavering attitude and explain to China in a stern tone that its act will not be tolerated," Congress reportedly tweeted.

A more deadly clash between the two sides in the Galwan Valley in June 2020 led to several deaths on both sides.

While India had said that 20 of its soldiers had died in the clash in June 2020, China would not reveal its numbers.

However, a report later revealed that China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) lost at least nine times more soldiers than the official count of four.
