In a major breakthrough, Delhi Police arrests 2 more in Sidhu Moosewala murder case
text_fieldsNew Delhi: In a major breakthrough, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested another shooter who was reportedly involved in the assassination of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala on May 29.
Sharpshooter Ankit Sirsa, one among those who fired indiscriminately at the singer, and Sachin Bhiwani, who was responsible for sheltering four of the shooters of the Sidhu Moose Wala case, were arrested from Delhi's Kashmiri Gate bus stand on Sunday, Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, Special Commissioner of Police of the Delhi Police Special Cell said at a press conference today.
Ankit, a resident of Sonipat in Haryana, is accused in two other cases of attempts to murder in Rajasthan. He is also the youngest of the shooters.
Sachin Bhiwani, who is also accused in a "heinous case" in Rajasthan's Churu, is accused of hiding the shooters and helping them.
Bhiwani was the main person handling all the operations of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in Rajasthan, police said.
At the time of their apprehension, the Special Cell recovered three Punjab Police uniforms from their possession apart from one pistol of 9 MM bore along with 10 live cartridges and one pistol of .30 MM bore along with 9 live cartridges.
Earlier also it was the Special Cell that arrested three people -- two main shooters and one facilitator who were involved in the Moosewala`s killing. The two accused shooters, identified as Priyavrat alias Fauji (26), a resident of Sonipat in Haryana, and Kashish alias Kuldeep (24), were arrested in Kutch district in Gujarat on June 19.
Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, known for his stage name Sidhu Moose Wala, was shot dead by unidentified people on May 29.
