If performance-based, Modi should have been ousted first: Siddaramaiah
text_fieldsBengaluru: Congress leader Siddaramaiah on Thursday tweeted that if the performance of ministers was the criterion for the cabinet reshuffle, then Prime Minister Narendra Modi should have been ousted first. Siddaramaiah further accused Modi of being directly responsible for the complete failure of the BJP government since 2014.
"If the performances of ministers were the yardstick to reshuffle the cabinet, @narendramodi should have been removed from @PMOIndia first. He is directly responsible for all the failures of @BJP4India govt since 2014.#FailedReshuffle," Siddaramaiah tweeted.
Modi was the one who appeared on television and explained all the decisions when Covid erupted in the country. The prime minister even suggested banging pots to get rid of Covid. However, Dr Harshvardhan was expelled for misrule. Why did Modi not resign, Siddaramaiah questioned in the thread.
The Congress minister also named Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman responsible for the country's economic collapse after Modi. Why did Modi keep the finance minister despite demonetisation, GST and other failed policies which have pushed the country to its present predicament, he asks.
"It was @narendramodi who appeared on TV repeatedly to announce all #Covid19 related decisions including that of banging vessels. But @drharshvardhan was removed for #Covid19 mismanagement. Is it not @narendramodi who had to resign?#FailedReshuffle, Siddaramaiah tweeted. He also noted that the reshuffle of the BJP's cabinet, which has no internal democracy, was of no importance. The rule of a dictator is leading the country to unrest and complete failure, he added.
