Bahubali-fame filmmaker SS Rajamouli said he takes too long to make a film because he is a perfectionist. He also admitted that he knows nothing in life can ever be perfect but he wants to get closer to perfection.

The director recently delivered another period drama 'RRR' which is based on the fictional friendship of two freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. It was released countrywide in March this year in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The film is being praised for its screenplay, accuracy in regional dialects, and performances.

However, Rajamouli says he has certain shortcomings as a director. He never worked as an assistant and struggles with basic shot-making. "When I made my first film, I did not know how to use a crane. I still don't know what shot gives me exactly what I need". He was speaking at the Times Network Leadership Summit.

He added that many things leave him indecisive during the shoot because there are thousands of options going through his mind. "I don't know what is the right thing to do," reported The Indian Express.

Speaking about his growth as a director, Rajamouli said he used to have a clear-cut idea of how an actor should perform a particular emotion and was very adamant about how they should act. "Slowly I realised that all my actors look the same because they are imitating me". He added that he realised each actor is chosen for their specific ability. Now Rajamouli is conducting workshops before shooting a film.

Rajamouli is known for movies like Magadheera, Eega, and two Bahubali movies.
