Human sacrifice case: Kerala High Court reserves verdict in bail plea of an accused
text_fieldsKochi: The Kerala High Court on Friday reserved the verdict in the bail plea of one of the accused in the controversial human sacrifice case.
The court said it was impressed with the petitioner's counsel's allegation that Laila Singh had no active role. But the prosecution says she was an active participant which will make a prima facie case against her. "I was going to pass orders today, but now I will go through the case diary and consider it," said the judge.
The murder of two women allegedly as part of a human sacrifice ritual was revealed in October after their dismembered bodies were recovered from the house of Laila Singh and her husband in Thiruvalla. Another person, Mohammed Shafi is said to be the agent who brought the victims to their house. All three are currently in judicial custody.
