Ghaziabad: Self-styled cow vigilante and Hindutva activist Daksh Chaudhary, with three million Instagram followers, led a mob in brutally assaulting Muslim man Imran for allegedly luring a 17-year-old Hindu girl from Etah, Uttar Pradesh, under the guise of “love jihad.”

Chaudhary, head of the Gauseva group, claims he rescues Hindu women from such conspiracies, where Muslim men purportedly convert them via relationships.

“Love jihad” is a term coined by right-wing affiliated groups and individuals who allege a concerted effort by Muslim men to convert Hindu women to Islam through marriage.

A viral Instagram video—with graphic warning—shows Chaudhary and his men pummeling Imran, who begs for mercy with a swollen eye, pleading “galti hogayi (I made a mistake).” Inside a car, Chaudhary retorts, “Na ise Allah bachayega, na koi aur. Ab tera baap agaya (Neither Allah nor anyone will save you. Now your father has arrived).” Chaudhary alleges Imran, married with children, posed as Manish Chauhan and hid the girl for a month.

Ghaziabad police confirmed the incident took place in their jurisdiction, not Delhi's Karol Bagh, with Additional CP (Crime) Keshav Kumar Choudhary stating that legal proceedings are underway but providing no additional information.
