New Delhi: Days after the controversial hates speech at 'dharam sansad' meet in Haridwar the Supreme Court asked for a status report from the Uttarakhand government on the FIRs registered in the case, The Indian Express reported.

The court also allowed the petitioners to serve a copy of their fresh application to the standing counsel of the state against another 'dharam sansad' to be held in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday.

Also, they can take up the issue of proposed event with authorities in Himachal Pradesh.

There are petitions pending against two similar events organised by Yati Narsinghanand in Haridwar and by Hindu Yuva Vahini in Delhi which saw open call for taking arms against the Muslim community.

The fresh petitions filed with the pending petitions by Delhi resident Qurban Ali and Senior Advocate Anjana Prakash for the alleged laxity on the part of the police in Uttarakhand and Delhi in dealing with the matters.
