New Delhi: The government on Saturday debunked a fake AI-generated video being circulated by Pakistani propaganda accounts, which falsely attributed comments to Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General N.S. Raja Subramani linking Army resignations to the Jantar Mantar protests.

PIB Fact Check said the video was manipulated and that the CDS had made no such statement. It added that the fabricated clip was being used to spread misinformation and urged citizens to stay alert against such content online.

The false video claimed that 30,000 Army jawans had resigned over the protests in New Delhi and that the armed forces would be divided if the government did not act. PIB Fact Check clarified that the original footage was unrelated and showed the CDS inviting people to the IndianOil Durand Cup.

In the authentic clip, General Subramani was seen speaking about the Durand Cup and its hosting across five cities from July 25 to August 23. PIB also advised people to verify suspicious government-related content with official fact-check channels.
