Global bodies accept India's declining poverty: Modi claims

Shimla: Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed on Tuesday that India's global position has improved in the last eight years of the NDA government, adding that international organisations have started accepting poverty is declining in the country, The Indian Express reported.
According to him, security and integrity were the crucial markers of his government, differentiating it from previous governments. He also claimed that India's borders are more secure than before, while the public is talking about ease of doing business instead of corruption.
Addressing a "Garib Kalyan Sammelan" at Shimla's Ridge Maidan, he once again reminded of cross-border strikes on terrorist launchpads in 2016 and the Balakot air mission.
Modi did not forget to dish out his routine attack on the previous UPA government too. He said that before 2014, the media was being flooding with news and debates about loot, corruption and scams, which have changed under his regime. Now the talk is benefits of government schemes, which is what the World Bank does too, which mentioned about ease of doing businesses under the current government at the Centre.
Before 2014, the Northeast was disturbed because of imbalanced development and discrimination, but it has changed now. "Northeast is attached by heart and modern infrastructure," TIE quotes the PM.
During his speech, he later entered into the implementation of The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019, and how there is no fear of Triple Talaq but the courage to fight among women from the Muslim community.
