Fuel price hikes by 35 paise/l
text_fieldsAfter a two-day break, petrol and diesel prices surged again on Wednesday. The pump price of petrol and diesel in Delhi has increased by 35 paise per litre. As per a price notification issued by state-owned fuel retailers, the price of petrol stands at Rs 107.94/l and that of diesel at Rs 96.67/l.
In Mumbai, where fuel prices are the highest across metros, the price of petrol stands at 113.8/l and diesel at 104.85/l.
Petrol and diesel prices have increased between 35-40 paise per litre countrywide. However, retail rates are dependent on the local taxes on petroleum products.
The fuel prices remained static last week on Monday and Tuesday, but had risen for four straight days by 35 paise per litre previously before again rising for five consecutive days between Wednesday and Sunday. It remained static again on Monday and Tuesday before rising again on Wednesday. There was no change in rates on October 12 and 13.
In the last 33 days, diesel prices rose for 25 days, taking the retail price up by Rs 8.15/l in Delhi. With the surge, diesel prices have crossed the 100/l mark in several parts of the country.
Meanwhile, petrol prices also increased in 22 out of the last 29 days, increasing the pump price by Rs 6.75/l.
