Karnataka: Four girls studying Class 11 and 12 at Raichur Government Women's College have gone missing under suspicious circumstances.

The Principal of the college Chandrashekar said on Monday that the students Monica, Bhagyashree, Bhavani, and Nandini have not attended classes for the past four days. He added that the girls went missing from outside the college.

"Once they are inside the college campus it is our responsibility. I personally go on rounds to keep vigilance among students and my teachers also go on rounds. I appeal to parents not to panic and send their children to college," said the official.

The school authorities informed the city police that all four girls were lagging behind in their studies and did not attend their classes on a regular basis.

All four girls went missing on the same day, and their parents lodged a complaint with Raichur Women's Police station. The police have started searching for them in neighbouring states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as well.
