Mumbai: The Mumbai Police have arrested Partho Dasgupta, former CEO of the Broadcast Audience Research Council for alleged connections to the TRP manipulation scam.

Dasgupta is the fifteenth arrested in the case which saw the former COO of BARC arrested last week.

Dasgupta was arrested from Pune by the Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the Mumbai Police on Thursday and will be produced before court on Friday.

Former COO Romil Ramgarhia is accused of leaking details about BARC's systems to Republic TV's CEO Vikas Khanchandani for which he allegedly received benefits like tour packages and shopping discounts.

Ramgarhia also stands accused of using his position to influence TRP ratings by suppressing ratings of other channels to boost Republic TV's.

So far Dasgupta's role in the scam had not been revealed.
