The first batch of 5 Rafale Aircrafts of the 36 ones ordered by the IAF, had arrived in Ambala on July 29 after a stopover at the Al Dhafra airbase in UAE.

According to the report the 3 aircrafts where airborne from Istres airbase in France and flew over 8 Hrs covering over 3700 nautical miles with three in-flight refuellings before reaching it's destination in Gujarat.

IAF appreciated the tanker support extended by the French Air Force for the direct ferry of the aircrafts.

IAF considers the arrival of the second batch of Rafale aircrafts to be a boost against the tensions created by China and Pakistan in the borders.
