Flipkart files FIR for storing narcotics in counterfeit packages
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Leading e-commerce company Flipkart filed an FIR against unknown persons for impersonating Flipkart, thus harming its reputation.
Acting on media reports, Flipkart registered the case for storing narcotic substances in packages by counterfeiting Flipkarts trademark, logo and copyright.
The FIR said that it learnt from media reports about a raid on April 28-29 by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Jamia Nagar, Delhi.
NBC reportedly recovered from unknown persons 50 kg of high quality heroin, 47 kg of suspected narcotics and Rs 30 lakh of drug money in cash alongside some incriminating documents.
Flipkart said in the FIR that the accused were aiding and abetting punishable offences by harming its reputation.
Flipkart has asked Delhi Police to conduct a detailed investigation as the offences are cognisable and non-bailable in nature, IANS reported.
The retailor giant sought immediate action to prevent anti-social elements engaged in criminal activities to protect the public at large.
Flipkart said that being a responsible and law abiding company, it had taken legal action against any illegal or unlawful activity that came to its notice.
